Domain names are very important. It is an easy way for someone to find your website on the internet.
The shorter the domain name the better, so people can remember it and easily find you. A lot of the short names might be
taken so you might have to try a few different versions of it.
A Domain Name allows people to find your website by name instead of by number.
There can only be one of any Domain name in the world. If www.example.com is already registered by another company,
then you must find a name that is not yet registered.
You will need to choose what domain name extension to use like .com, .net etc. There are many to choose
from so choose what you think sounds better.
When choosing a domain name, you will want to let people know what your website is about. The product you are selling or what your service
is about. That way your website will be easier to find for people searching for your product.
Check if your preferred domain name is available Here.
Once you have chosen a domain name, register it with us and we will do the rest
If you own the domain yourself and are happy with what you pay, then it is not necessary to transfer it but
we will need the name of your domain service, your user name and password to be able to access it to give you hosting.
You will need to obtain the transfer code (EPP code) from your current domain registrar.
You will need to contact your current registrar in order to obtain this code from them.
Place an order for the domain name transfer via our website.
Once your order has been placed an invoice will be created. Once your invoice has been
marked as paid, your transfer request will be sent to the registrar.
Once the domain transfer request has been received by the registrar and your EPP code
has been accepted. A confirmation of transfer e-mail will be sent to the registrant e-mail address for the domain.
You will need to respond to the e-mail to approve the transfer process.
The rest of the process is automated and your domain should be transferred within 5 business days.
If there are any delays to your order during this process we will let you know and contact you via e-mail
to assist you with your domain transfer. If you have
any questions about your domain transfer you can contact us
If your domain name is registered with another provider you will need to access your
domain name management area with them. Once you are there you'll need to update
your name servers to direct your domain name to your web hosting with Oz Doggy.
Usually they will be similar to the following:
Nameserver 1: ns1.ozdoggyhosting.com
Nameserver 2: ns2.ozdoggyhosting.com
Depending on which server you are hosted on, your nameservers may be different to the sample listed above.
Please contact us if you are not sure exactly what nameservers you should use.
The amount of bandwidth needed varies a lot between different sites. The more images and video
on your website, and the more hits you get, the more bandwidth you will need. We
recommend you start with at least 3000MB of bandwidth, as this gives you some room
to grow as your website becomes more popular.
As your website grows you may need to move to a plan with more bandwidth. You will be alerted by
the hosting system as you start to approach your bandwidth quota on a monthly basis to let you know
itís about time to consider an upgrade.
Every time someone opens your website they are retrieving a copy of your website. It is this information
transfer that counts towards your bandwidth quota, not just files that are specifically downloaded.

information to your customers takes time, whether itís on the phone,
face-to-face, or in emails. With a website you can provide lots of information
about your products and services. Once your website is up and running, it is
available to your customers indefinitely, saving you time. And what is time?
Time is money!
The four easy steps we provide below will guide you in the direction of a
professionally designed, developed and marketed Web site.
Domain Name (URL) Registration -- This is the address people will use to access your Web site
(www.yourcompany.com). A domain name needs to be renewed every year or
every two years in the case of a .AU domain.
Design of the Web Site -- This is where the look, feel, and content of the Web site are determined and created.
Hosting Your Web Site on a Web Server -- This is basically where you rent space on a computer
that is always connected to the Internet. Price will vary, depending on the
amount of disk space you will have and the connection to the Internet.
Marketing Your Web Site -- You should be thinking about the marketing of your Web site as it is
being designed. The content of the site needs to reflex the search terms if
you want your site to appear on search engines.
This depends on the complexity of the pages and also on the participation level of
the customer. It is crucial for the customer to provide Oz Doggy with all requested information on a timely basis.
We will involve the customer as much (or as little!) as they desire. Some prefer to be part of the
process along every step, while others would rather let us use make decisions based on our past experiences.
We will make every effort to meet the timeframe you have in mind.
Oz Doggy has very low overheads. No fancy office, no snooty receptionist, no latte-sipping sales weasels.
It is difficult to quote an average price due to the enormous range of requirements for a site.
A fully customized, unique website design from 1 to 4 pages start at $250, and additional pages are $50 each.
These prices are for average sites. Pricing for other services and functionality like videos,
slide shows and flash would have to be quoted on depending on their complexity.
Some web developers insist on maintenance contracts that require
you to pay them even when you don't need any work on your site. We only charge you when we do work for you.
We give as much latitude as we possibly can. After your website is up and running and
within the first month, we'll complete up to 2 rounds of major revisions at no charge.
All minor revisions, like spelling etc. are provided at no charge.
A custom site is developed from scratch:
The information and navigational structure, graphics, and function are all
designed based on your unique specifications.
Whatís more, custom sites allow for all of the bells and whistles that elevate a
website beyond professional graphics. Analytics data, search engine
optimization, social media integration ó the list of features is endless ó and a
custom site makes it all possible.
Not exclusive and unique:Website templates
are downloaded and used by many hundreds of users. So they are not exclusive
and unique to your own company. You may end up with a website that is a clone of
many others. If you want to ensure that no-one else buys the same website
template, you will have to pay many times the price. Besides, the same template
may have been used by customers who downloaded it before you got there. You
may need to custom-design your website if you want a design exclusive to your
company or for your personal use.
Limitations on customization: A website template
cannot be tweaked beyond a point, so it may end up being non-specific to your
requirements. If you have a lot of website content but have chosen a web
template with limited space for text, the additional text may change the look of
the layout by stretching it. At this point you may decide that the template
doesnít really work for you but you are stuck with it as you have already paid
for it and downloaded it.
Image optimization requires skills:
to be familiar with optimizing images for the web so that your pages load
quickly. If you donít have the required skills and photo-editing software for
image optimization, this will slow down the website development process and you
may need to engage the services of a web developer.
Search engine optimization: Website Templates
will only give you the shell of your site. They are not optimized to attract
search engines. You will need to do this with your website content. Keep in
mind that search engines are more attracted to words than to pictures. So
despite the good looks of your website, it may end up lower on search engine
rankings or might not be found at all.
There are a lot of downturns to
this. Some or all of the various free sites can have the following problems as after
all, they are all money making sites in one way or the other.
1. Because a lot of people use them
they crowd more people on their server that it can handle and the server can go
down. It might go down a few times a week but you will never know this unless
you try to find your site while it is down.
2. A lot of features on free sites
are not free.
3. They have poor customer support.
After all they have to pay their emploees so it is very difficult to get through
to them and phone support is only for higher paying customers.
4. An email account is only for
5. Many free sites place ads on your

Yes, if we know of a template that will compliment your site we will use it.
Because we host your site (called self hosting) we are not restricted to the
limitations that are in place for those that are hosted by the template
provider. We can customize this template to your own unique requirements.
